Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following wars and time period: Philippine Insurrection, Mexican Border Disturbance, World War I (WWI). Contains photographs of the following military unit: 17th United States (U.S.) Infantry. General description of the collection: The Horace P. Hobbs photograph collection contains photos from the Army career of Colonel Hobbs, 1899-1918, and a few photos of him in the 1950s, long after his retirement. The majority of the photos deal with his tour of duty in the Philippines with the 17th U.S. Infantry from 1899 to ca. 1903. Many of these photos were used in his book, "Kris & Krag". There is a nice little album from the Island of Siassi in 1901-1902. A folder of unidentified photos taken on th Mexican border ca. 1916 and a few WWI photos are part of the collection. Several family photos are also included.
